UEFA delegation visit to Lviv, 6-8 April
UEFA President Michel Platini will visit Ukraine on April 6-8 to inspect the construction sites of the Euro 2012 host city’s airport and stadium. In late 2009 UEFA officials confirmed that Ukraine would have 4 host cities at the 2012 tournament, but this confirmation came following long months of concern as UEFA bosses sweated over Ukraine’s
ability to make good on its far-reaching Euro 2012 infrastructure commitments. While in Ukraine former French midfield legend Platini will also visit Ukraine’s other host cities: Kharkiv, Donetsk and Kyiv.
While in Lviv Mr. Platini and his delegation will be shown around the city and entertained with a promotional video produced to support Lviv’s efforts to host matches at Euro 2012. Lviv’s city authorities have faced numerous delays in their bid to prepare the city but remain publicly adamant that everything will be ready in time for the June 2012 kick-off.
