Eurofan festival, June 25-28,

At time of going to press, the whole city was waiting to lean whether Lviv would be chosen as one of Ukraine’s 4 Euro 2012 host cities, but the local authorities are not standing by and waiting to learn their fate – instead they have organised a fun gathering of football fans which is scheduled to take place in late June and offer a foretaste of what Lviv locals can expect from the European invasion of Euro 2012. The people behind this fun initiative are  representatives  of  public Organization “Karpaty”, Lviv, Ukraine (www.gokarpaty.org), who are main  organizers of this  incredible  international football tournament for football supporters called “Eurofan”.
This  year   in tournament  will  be  16 teams of participants in total, among which are Zenit (Russia), Liverpool (England), Rangers (Scotland), Bohemians (Czech Republic), Schalke 04 (Germany), Wisla Krakow, Ostrovia (both - Poland), Rapid (Austria), Heerenveen (The Netherlands), Inter Milan, Chievo Verona (both - Italy), Atletico Madrid (Spain), Wales supporters team, Croatia supporters team, Karpaty (Ukraine) and Football team of Ukrainian showbiz stars FC Maestro.
During games there will be live comments and music (speakers will be placed around the grounds, DJ and commentator will work with microphones).

The hospitality program includes accommodation for teams, excursion tours around Lviv with interpreters, celebration party after the tournament, souvenirs and mementos for all participating teams and volunteers involved.

All interested participants will get tickets for a large rock festival organized by Persha Pryvatna Brovarnya (official partner of “Eurofan” project), which will take place in Lviv on 29 June 2009.

The “Eurofan” tournament is a unique event not only in Ukraine, but in all Europe.

Also the “Eurofan” project is included in the official list of events in course of preparations to “Euro-2012” by Lviv City Council.
