Nightlife Focus Celebrates Six Years

Lviv nightlife hotspot Casino Split celebrated its 6th birthday in style on August 8, with all the show programme glamour and international culinary delights for which the venue is known. Festive fireworks over Mitskevich Square topped off a fun night of celebration which left Split owner Mr. Andrian Mostoviy a proud man.

On August 15 the exciting new Lviv Centre for East European Urban History went public with the results of its “My Lviv” artistic competition. Fifty talented artists ventured to take up the challenge to create something new and fresh that reflected the essence of Lviv.

Lviv marked the annual Ukrainian Independence Day holiday this August with a series of colourful events that began well before the August 24 holiday and ran on for days! The highlight of the festivities was Oleh Skrypka’s ethno festival, which delighted Lviv’s growing legions of devotees to this hip folk style.

On August 17 Lviv marked the 645th anniversary of the city’s Armenian cathedral. Festivities including a solemn Liturgy were led by the Head of the Ukrainian Eparchy of the Armenian Apostolic Church Archbishop Grigoris.

Celebrating Ukrainian Literature!

Lviv has long been the home of Ukrainian-language literature, and while that responsibility is now shared with Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities, it remains the spiritual home of the written word in Ukraine. In a bid to acknowledge this Lviv plays host to an annual literary forum which draws the entire industry to the city for a brief few days of September hype and creativity.

International Investor Forum

Over three hundred delegates from 12 countries attended the early October Lviv Economic Forum, with debate focusing on the many ambitious infrastructure projects which have been planned as part of the city’s Euro 2012 preparations.
