In June Lviv played host to an Ecumenical social week which brought Christians of all denominations together. This reminder of the city’s rich history as a cultural and religious crossroads was marked by a series of stunning  theatrical performances courtesy of the celebrated Lviv troupe from the Voskresynnya theatre. Colourful spectaculars were held on Rynok Square itself, utilizing the stunning backdrops of Ukraine’s fairytale architecture  to great effect alongside a host of other imaginative props including lanterns and ancient pagan wicker men. The Voskresynnya team are currently on a summer tour of Poland, and interrupted their travels to join in the Ecumenical week.
