Academics from across the region  flocked to Lviv last month to attend  events tied to the 400th anniversary  of the foundation of Lviv University’s  Scientific Library. Prior to this  milestone anniversary the building  housing the library had undergone  extensive renovation works, returning it to some of its former glory.  Preparations also led workers to  uncover and restore frescos by the  Polish artist Juliusz Makarevich.
