Lviv is a student town and one of  the many inter-institutional bodies  to have sprung up as a result of this plethora of higher education institutions is the Student Brotherhood. The Brotherhood were behind this fun event in November which invited  ladies from all of Lviv’s institutes  to participate in an open beauty  contest. Novelty elements included  wedding dresses and military uniform, with the event winner being 19 year old Maryana Penlrak, who is  a student of International Affairs at  Lviv Polytechnika. Vice-miss crowns went to the fantastically-named  Vaselyna Rab and Oksana Ryzha.
